Microsoft Announces They'll Start Selling PCs

Much to nobody's surprise, after selling a handheld Xbox for one thousand United States dollar-eenoes, filling Windows 11 with all of the worst back-door bots, malware, and privacy invasion tech, killing Windows 10, and contributing to an e-waste pandemic, Microsoft's next announcement is that the follow-up to the Series X and S will have "premium hardware" with a "curated experience." And that this will be more in-line with their latest mega-ask, that you spend 500 dollars more than you would on a Steam Deck, to play PC--I mean, Xbox games, in the palm of your sweaty, earwax covered fingers. Right. Sure.
In an interview with Mashable, Xbox president Sarah Bond talked in vague terms about what Microsoft is going for with its next-gen console, but did suggest it will be a premium hybrid PC and console.

"The next-gen console is going to be a very premium, very high-end curated experience," Bond said. "You're starting to see some of the thinking we have in this handheld [ROG Xbox Ally], but I don't want to give it all away."

That’s a reference to the recently released ROG Xbox Ally X handheld, which costs $1,000. (In another interview, Bond said this and the less powerful, $600 ROG Ally are ultimately Asus-made handhelds — and because of this, Asus set the price.)

So, Xbox fans are now wincing at the thought of how expensive the next-gen console will be, particularly in the context of recent price rises to Xbox Game Pass and the Xbox Series X and S.

2025 has been ... a year.

A year of corporations making the worst decisions. The kinds of decisions nobody asked for, or about. Like today's announcement from Krafton, that they'll be replacing their entire workplace with AI. Hope you weren't interested in following the progress on their development of inZoi, because the investors demand blood.

2025 is a year of having to weigh your morals against, ever having fun again, it seems.

But, back on the the Xbox beat: Ever since the Xbox One came out, I've been slowly questioning why I'm buying these consoles. And then the Series X \| S came out, and I'm still questioning, "Why have I bought this? Why don't I just use my PC?" And now, after a year and a half of Microsoft giving investors all of their love and devotion, I've plugged my Nintendo Switch back in, and put my Xbox in a drawer, never to be seen again.

And that was before the CEO of Xbox, whom'st I have never heard of before, decided to announce that the next Xbox could potentially cost as much as a PC.

Because nobody will see through that.

Nobody will decide for themselves that, "Hey, uh, why don't I just buy a PC?"

Do you know what else can load up Steam, and Epic Games, and a Web browser, and app stores?

A whole entire normal ass computer. And you can upgrade those, yourself, without waiting five to eight years!

Anyway, my vacation from work starts now, and I have some sleeping to do. I can't wait to wake up eight hours from now and find out what dumb decision yet another company that controls everything I used to enjoy has decided to destroy or enshitify, today.
