Bluesky: Part 8, the Enshitification Will Continue Until Moral Improves

I'm calling this "part 8" because I've written about Bluesky, so many dang times now. And every single time I do, it's because they're either protecting someone who is profoundly hateful, or because they've banned someone without good reason. Heck, I've been banned twice now for vague mentions of ill will toward people who definitely deserve it. And that's kind of what this post is about, today. Even if it's a bit late.
It started three days ago when Bluesky updated their binding arbitration clause to be ... lawsuit resistant. You can read more about that here, in a Medium article where the author spends way too much time kissing the asses of the people behind the barely-federated social network.
But that's only the half of it.
If you try and do a quick search for something summing all of this up, you won't find it. It appears the most documented place this was talked about, was directly on Bluesky, and also Mastodon.
Thankfully, this screenshot is enough to tell the basics of the story.

A trans person, whose account I can't even see, because it no longer exists, wished "ill will" on JK Rowling, a well-known fascist who is actively using the money she makes from Harry Potter media to fund campaigns aimed at legislating transgender people out of public life, and quite possibly existence.
But, to me, this is really no surprise, as Jay Graber has openly welcomed Donald Trump to the platform, and said platform is backed by a crypto company.
I've written about, and linked to sources on these things numerous times now in posts I've made on this subject, and I'm sure it's also pretty well known at this point.
So, why are there still marginalized and vulnerable people posting on Bluesky, days after all of this happened? Heck, a year after all of the frankly bad decisions Jay and her team have made?
Why, when you have places like Wafrn that is a fediverse instance, simultaneously running a PDS, so that you can post to both networks authentically, no bridge required. A place where you aren't at the mercy of Jay's iron-fist moderation bot. And that's not to mention, all of the other pretty rad and cool places on the fediverse that have zero connection to Bluesky.
You see, Bluesky doesn't have to be "it." You can abandon your preconceived notions about "how hard" the fediverse is, and then join. Anywhere. And then you won't have to post in fear that you might be banned for saying something like, "JK Rowling sucks a load of ass."
Or, you can go back to Twitter where being subjected to a Neo Nazi is a dime-a-dozen experience.
But I've beaten this drum a million times. And, obviously, my posts on my website don't reach everyone. It's just ... this is ridiculous, isn't it? It's a little ridiculous that an app that erected itself as a replacement for the quickly enshitified Twitter, made all kinds of promises, and then nosedived immediately, and people just kind of ... accept it? For no reason? As if their hands are bound and they can't do anything about it, but continue to feed their thoughts and personal information into a platform run by snake-oil salesmen.
I'm sure that, a month from now, six months from now, the Bluesky team will do something even more egregious than banning someone for wishing ill will upon a fascist who's destroying the rights of vulnerable communities, and I wonder then, if that still won't be enough for people to wake the fuck up.
