Fart Knuckleburger Wants to Sell You on the Idea of AI Glasses

In an extremely long, and inaccessible Wall Street Journal article, that you cannot read unless you pay (that I can read, because I'm subscribed to Apple News), it's detailed that Mark Zucklenuts wants to convince you that the world will soon be run by a pair of glasses you wear, that completely replace your phone. A pair of glasses that are, currently, only functional while tethered to a phone. He wants to sell you on this idea, not because he actually believes any of that, but because, much like the way Meta stole millions of books over torrent networks in order to feed their AI, they want to steal everything you see.
The full article is here, if you pay for it.
Mostly, there's a lot of talk about Zart Splatterballs "targeting" Apple, challenging them, blah blah blah. He talks about replacing your iPhone and building interfaces and technology that allow you to seamlessly experience the world, and the internet, from a pair of glasses attached to your face.
Because people hate using a glass screen that they can put away, right? They'd much rather be attached to Billy Bob's shitposts on Bluesky, at all times.
You might call Facebook Meta's only successful platform, but most people nowadays don't like, or use Facebook. A lot of people have a profile, but from nearly everyone I see speak about the app, say they have one only to keep up with family who refuse to use literally anything else. How could an app that was built up from a hot-or-not, sexual harassment website be, bad? You wonder, sarcastically.
Maybe you'd call Instagram their most successful platform. Except, they bought Instagram. They didn't make that.
Well, certainly their metaverse clone, that has strict anti-adult themes, and nothing to do besides chat in a virtual room, is successful? Oh, that's been done before? And better?
Oh, they've lost up to 17.7 billion dollars on their virtual worlds?
Surely their Twitter clone, Threads, is some kind of a success? Right? RIGHT?
Sure, if the only thing you want to see all day is fake-fluencers talking about how great their lives are, while the platform codifies transphobia as a positive thing in their terms of service.
Everything Matt Rottenburger touches is dead-on-arrival.
His ideas are lame, the execution is half-assed, the fascist-pandering is constant, and everything coming out of Meta is something people use, because they feel like they have to.
Sure.
Your "AI" "super-intelligent" glasses will definitely be a success.
Not like anyone with half a brain can see from a mile away that this is just another Meta grift to fuel their error prone slop-machine that's currently banning people en masse on Instagram, with no recourse, and no public statements.
I'm not even going to get into how ridiculous it is to go around telling people that AI is "intelligent," when it's nothing more than a Twitter algorithm from 2017 with a chat interface. There is no sentience. There is no "intelligence." There is only profit-seeking from oligarchs who are past-due a reckoning upon them.
I'll keep my dumb glasses, thanks.
