A Note on AI

In the year of 2025, generative images (and fiction, music, etc) has been around for a little while. It's possible that you're somebody who hasn't really grasped or heard or even seen what exactly this entails. Or, what this technology needs in order to do what it does. You see, the things generated from a prompt aren't just pulled from thin air, they aren't "made up" by the "AI" itself (I use that term loosely because LLMs are not that much different than a social media algorithm, and are not intelligent in any sense of the word). These things are "created" from work scraped from millions of artists (and writers, coders, etc), without their permission or consent. To add insult to injury, this technology also uses additional and massive amounts of energy and fresh water, which, obviously, is damaging the environment even more than we as a species have already and continue to do.

With these things in mind, do not post AI generated images on this forum, or your topic will be deleted.
