But, most of us are paying attention to current politics.
And, I don't know, something happened recently that just kind stinks like a week old fart in a plastic bag.
Was it the Oligarchy Dinner Party where Tim Cook said "thanks" like 9 different times to the fascist-in-chief?
Obviously, this is all partially just what comes with being a big rich company in 2025. You gotta appease whoever's in office, I guess? Especially if they're threatening tariffs or whatever.
But.
Steve Jobs was no decent man. He was kind of an asshole. And while I don't really make a habit of propping up the super rich (because they already prop themselves up with the stolen prosperity of all of the people who work for them), I know almost for a fact that Jobs would not have been seen dead or alive in a room with Donald Trump, let alone eating dinner and sheepishly thanking him for the opportunity, like a fuggin' tool.
Wouldn't have been seen dead or alive sitting next to the sociopath running our climate into the ground, and people's livelihoods into the core of the Earth, or across from the creep-glasses creator, Mark Sucklemynutsaberg.
But maybe, maybe I'm a little pissed off.
Anyway, I open my Macbook every so often, and I don't really use it that much, because I have a Dell laptop that uses Debian, and over the past three years, my Macbook is no longer the powerhouse it was when I first bought it. Which is kind of depressing. And had I not the Debian Dell, I would've maybe considered a trade-in come sometime next year, but ... Eh.
The only thing that doesn't make me feel "Eh" about the event is that maybe the iPhone 17 will at least be good for Genshin Impact in longer bursts than 15 minutes at a time, since this frequently turns the back of my 15 into a nuclear reactor.
As we all know, innovation is mostly dead, and I keep coming back for these events waiting for something actually different to come out. But I also find myself wishing they'd put all the old icons from 2010 back onto their phones ... while they're prepping to give us Windows Vista instead.
And, despite Apple's careful approach to AI, and how this'll probably massively benefit them when the bubble bursts, I can't help but feel like, maybe Apple would be better off if someone other than Tim Apple was running the company.
